#3 Kate Winslet sparkles in Yves San Laurent. For some reason, this just hooked me. The hair was a nice, chiseled departure from the messheads we saw so much of and the dress just a had a beautifully sharp edge to it. This is how silver was meant to be worn. And all the accessories and moderate makeup just WORKED. Her body has never looked better.
#2 Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab Haute Couture. The way this dress moved was just To-Die-For. Watching her walk across the stage in it made me want to be wearing it. It was almost like a Gone With the Wind Dress, the back of it billowing out, the pattern taking on so many different shapes with its movement. And I am convinced no one could really wear it better. It was the risky understatement of the night. It reminds me of some of the fashion numbers done in Alice and Wonderland, which were amazing. The dark, demure colors are surprisingly vibrant on the red carpet. Can't say enough about it. Just gorgeous.
#1 Zoe Saldana in Givenchy Haute Couture. LOVE it or HATE it and I LOVE IT!! When I first saw her the camera was only showing the top and I was thinking how cool it looked on her and then the camera moved down and it just got cooler and cooler. I know there will be people who say there is too much going on, but that is just the statement of this dress. A certain roommate of mine thought it was too much, but I think it is a perfect composition. And the fact that she wore it is the best part, because she is the total it girl right now. Doesn't she look incredible in it!!? It's completely unforgettable. There were lots of great ones this year, but she stole and stopped the show. LOLE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!
